BayTech's M-Series DAC supports network data collection via TCP/IP. The V72 TCP/IP Ethernet module supports multiple Telnet connections or multiple Windows socket connections. Any client capable of Telnet can open connections to a M-Series DAC. Applications capable of opening Windows sockets can open multiple socket connections.

The M-Series DAC V72 is password protected for security. For diagnostics the M-Series DAC can report connection information as well as usage and available memory.

Data collection can come from multiple types of inputs. Devices such as barcode readers, scales, CNC machines etc., can use the various peripheral communication modules for input to an M-Series DAC unit. Photo eyes, temperature sensors, stepping motors, etc., can make use of various DAC Input modules for input. For control output, DAC output modules can provide several options such as, switch closure, control relays, analog or digital voltages.

The graphic shown above depicts a typical application for an M-Series DAC. In the graphic, multiple communication devices (RS232/422/485) are sending data to the M-Series DAC where data are buffered until a request is made from a client to provide the data. Data can also be sent to a communication device by addressing the specific port, then, sending the data.
