BayTech's H-Series Multiport controllers and M-Series DAC support automatic data collection. Packets of data are identified by a unique programmable termination character. Termination characters such as "carrige return ODH", "line feed 0AH" or "end of text 03H" are commonly used.

Both models of multiplexors can automatically send data to a host computer, or , can be queried for data stored in buffers.

The H-Series sends a sinlge port id indicating which port the data was received from. The M-Series can be programmed to send a port id, 16 character identifier, or no id.

The H-Series has a fixed 3.7k buffer per port. This buffer is used in the event the host is busy, or, if in query mode, until the host request the data. The M-Series can have an internal memory module for buffer sizes to 16mb.
